As a MYOB Essentials or MYOB AccountRight user, there is an important action required to remain super compliant after 1 July 2021.

What you need to do

You need to manually update the super guarantee contribution (SGC) rate from 9.5% to 10% on all MYOB Essentials and MYOB AccountRight files created before 1 July 2021.

For files created before 1 July 2021

The mandatory SGC amount you must pay all eligible employees from 1 July 2021 onwards changes to 10%. Before processing your first pay run in July 2021, employers will need to manually update the SGC rate to 10% in their file by following these steps:

Please note if you use additional payroll categories, you will need to check each category to see whether they will require changing based on the SGC rate increase.

If salary and wages are accrued prior to 30 June 2021 but paid on or after 1 July 2021, the full amount of the payment will be taxed at the increased SGC rate of 10%. The payment date determines the applicable SGC rate, regardless of the pay period (for example, the SGC rate applicable for a payment date of 1 July 2021 for the pay period of June 2021, is 10%).

For new company files created on and after 1 July 2021:

MYOB will automatically set the rate to 10% (no manual change required).
